QUIT TARGA SOUTH WEST – Friday to Sunday 19th-21st May

This very popular event is on again and continues as a result based event except for the Manjimup and Pemberton Town Stages to allow the drivers to have some safe fun around the town stages.

Everyone should be aware that the Gloucester Motel has been sold and half the rooms are now for fruit pickers. For assistance with accommodation go to the Pemberton Accommodation Association website www.pembertonstay.com.au or contact the Pemberton Visitors Centre on 9776 1133 or their website www.pembertonvisitor.com.au

The stages will be the same as 2016 and the popular Saturday Night Buffett Dinner will be on as always.

Maps, Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form are now available at www.targasouthwest.com.au

GT FABRICATION TARGA BUNBURY SPRINT – Saturday & Sunday 24th -25th June

In 2016 this event sold out in 48hours, so make sure you don’t miss out this year. We already have competitors asking when they can enter. GT Fabrications and City of Bunbury are fully supportive of the event. Scrutiny and Documentation will again be in Bunbury on Saturday afternoon and then the Shannons Show & Shine in Victoria Street will be jazzed up a bit with music and additional lighting.

The Regulations and Entry Form are available at www.targawest.com.au/bunbury

MID-YEAR SHANNONS TARGA RALLYSPRINT – Sunday 16th July

A great warm up for Quit Targa West or just a good excuse in the middle of the year to have some fund Rallysprinting. The morning will be for crews to do Passenger Rides, but you will need to ensure the passengers are kitted as per the new CAMS Requirements for Driving Suit and Helmet & Frontal Head Restraint.

Regulations and Entry Form will be out closer to the event.

QUIT TARGA WEST – Thursday to Sunday 10-13 August

This is the big event of the year and one that everyone should aspire to. 4 days of terrific tarmac rallying. For Rookies we will be running the 2Day Rallye on Saturday and Sunday. And for drivers who don’t want the stress of competition and would love to just have a Spirited Drive we have a 4Day Targa Tour and a 1Day Targa Tour.

Quit Targa West will be based at the Hyatt; the stages will be the same as 2016; the Service Park on Sunday will be based on Trade & Mulgul Roads and Commercials Street and to keep everyone entertained when the rally cars are not on the stage we will be having Drift Cars doing demos on Malaga Drive.

Maps, Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form are available at www.targawest.com.au

NEW ONLINE ENTRY FORM

To make entering Quit Targa South West and Quit Targa West easier, we have a new Online Entry Form that you can either enter each event individually or if you have the same details for both events you can enter both on the same form. Check it out at www.targawest.com.au/entryform or www.targasouthwest.com.au/entryform

RALLYSAFE TIMING

To make the Timing of the Stages easier for officials and competitors we are changing over to using the RallySafe System. This is an automated system that send Stage Times to the Results Teams and also tells the crews when to line up to Start.

200KMH MAXIMUM SPEED

We will be using RallySafe to calculate the penalty for going over 200kmh maximum speed. In simple terms, if you gain 3 seconds by speeding then you will be penalised 3 seconds. However, go over way over the 200 and the penalty will start to increase. Check it out how it works at http://rallysafe.com.au/rallysafespeeding-calculator

TECHNICAL REGULATIONS

Crews will be required to enter Quit Targa South West and Quit Targa West in the Class their car is built to. CAMS have made a few changes to their Tech Regs so be sure to check them out, they are currently not on the CAMS website but we are expecting them to be back up very soon.

CAR CLUB AWARDS

To add some spice to the Trophy List, we would love to have awards for winners within a Car Club group or a Marquee. So rather than competing against cars within your class you are also competing against mates from your Car Club or same marquee of car. If your Car Club is interested in being part of this, make sure you contact us.
