Tarmac Cup

Times are pretty COVID19 crazy right now but this hasn’t stopped us creating a partnership with our friends over the SA border and we are proud to announce the formation of the Tarmac Cup for 2020.

The events comprising the 2020 Tarmac Cup will be:

Entrants are automatically eligible for points, with larger points allocations being up for grabs at the hallmark Make Smoking History Targa West and Shannons Adelaide Rally events.
Both Targa 130/Challenge and Competition Categories are eligible. Further to this, travellers venturing from one state to another get points bonuses. View the points system and sporting regulations:
The winning teams will be announced and Trophies presented to those present at the 2020 Shannons Adelaide Rally podium presentation; 6pm on Saturday 28th November.
We are acutely aware of the travel restrictions in place for people travelling back into WA from SA, who at present need a G2G approval to re-enter without quarantine. We are hopeful of an easing of restrictions later in the year that makes this more attractive.
TARMAC CUP & COVID-19 (as at 4/8/20)
At present there is already a good contingent of West Australian entries for the Adelaide Rally in late November and are hopeful we will still see these cars take on the local SA teams in the Adelaide Hills. We are also hopeful that a number of SA crews may ba able to participate in Targa West in October.
What happens if restrictions are still in place?
Both Targa West and Adelaide Rally offer a COVID guarantee whereby interstate entrants will receive a full refund pre-event should they not be able to travel to Targa West or Adelaide Rally and back due to COVID19.
We also understand that given the unknown nature of border controls over the next 4 months time, that the series may not have a large amount of cross pollination between states. Regardless, we are laying the groundwork for what we intend to build on in future.
